성공적인 엄마표영어로 마침표를 찍고 싶다면 정말 책 선정을 잘 해야한다. 보통 영어그림책 >> 리더스북을 거쳐 >> 챕터북 순으로 넘어가고 마지막으로 >> 소설책을 읽게 되는데 챕터북에도 다양한 단계가 있고, 쉬운 단계를 거치지 않고서는 제대로 챕터북으로 정착하기 어렵다.
챕터북이란 무엇일까?
: 챕터북이란 일반적으로 7~10세의 중급 독자를 대상으로 하는 책이다.
초급 독자를 위한 그림책과 달리 그림보다는 산문을 중심으로 이야기를 전달한다.
보통 엄마표영어를 진행하다 보면 아이에게 일찍 챕터북을 권하게 되는데, 초등 2학년까지는 보통 그림이 많은 한글책을 보는 경우가 많은데 섯불리 그림 하나 없는 영어 챕터북으로 푸시하게 되면 금방 질려하는 경우도 발생한다.
그러니, 챕터북도 영어그램책을 충분히 읽히고 쉬운 챕터북을 통해서 아이에게 긴 챕터북을 읽을 준비를 할 시간을 줘야한다.
